The Breath That Turns Down a False Alarm
Panic can make the body feel like something is wrong when the alarm is just running too loud.
The Science
- Breathing is one of the fastest ways brain state and body state talk to each other.
- Fast shallow breaths change carbon dioxide signals and make sensations feel urgent.
- A longer exhale tells the system this moment can be handled.
The Protocol
- Try a slower inhale and a longer exhale for a few rounds.
- Keep the shoulders soft and let the air leave fully.
- Then step back into the task before your mind votes again.
